Send us a plan for support (scrambled export)

When you contact us for help, it's often much faster if we can see the exact plan that's giving you trouble. So you don't have to share personal details, Retirement Figures can export a scrambled copy: a normal .rfplan file with your names replaced by readable placeholders, while everything that reproduces your issue is kept.

Export a scrambled copy

  1. Open Control Center.
  2. In the Export Plans card, click Export scrambled copy for support.
  3. Your browser downloads a ...-support.rfplan file. Attach that to your support message.

What stays the same. By default everything that drives the calculation is left untouched, so the scrambled plan still reproduces your issue: all dollar amounts, account types, expense categories, ages, dates, rates, and every setting. Only the free-text names and notes above are changed.

Optional: also scramble dollar amounts. If you'd rather not share your real numbers, tick Also scramble dollar amounts before exporting. Every amount is multiplied by one hidden factor, so the proportions - and the plan's overall shape - stay the same while the actual figures are hidden. Because fixed tax brackets, IRMAA tiers, and ACA thresholds do not move with your numbers, this can make an issue that depends on exact amounts - anything tax, Medicare, or ACA related - harder for us to reproduce. If your issue is amount-sensitive, leave this off, or let us know you turned it on.

Good to know. The scrambled file is a throwaway copy for sending to us, not a backup - it doesn't reset your backup reminders, and it isn't the file to keep for restoring later (use Export all plans for that).
